STU LAURIE

Residencies are the mark of any good DJ, and Stu Laurie’s are as good as they come. Not only has he held down long-term residencies in the UK, Dubai, Australia, Spain and Switzerland, he has also played for big-name brands including Pacha, Café Del Mar, Defected and OBeach Ibiza. After moving through the ranks of his hometown Glasgow, Stu Laurie relocated to Spain in 2008, setting up residencies across the Balearics and studying music production at S.A.E. After a time in Australia, where he played numerous gigs across Perth, Sydney and Melbourne, he was head-hunted to launch Café Del Mar’s new DXB beach resort. He started his own nightlife concept “What Da Funk” concentrating solely on quality house music which against all the odds found himself playing to a sold out venue every Thursday. With his night a great success, he rapidly became an in-demand name in the Middle East, a versatile DJ able to straddle the line between cool and commercial with consummate ease. It wasn’t long before Pacha Dubai came calling. One of their first acts was to sign Stu Laurie as a long term resident, where he shared the decks with industry legends like John Digweed, Martin Solveig, Paul Van Dyk, Simon Dunmore, Bob Sinclar and Dimitri From Paris. As that list illustrates, Stu is a hugely adept DJ, able to drop main room peak time anthems as well as craft the perfect slow-burning warm up set with no genre boundaries. 2019 was another big year. He kicked it off with an international gig in Verbier (Switzerland) which lead to a residency during the busy winter period. Stu then followed the sun, launching the SIN brand in Mallorca and also played at the original SIN Sundays at Ocean Beach Club, Ibiza. Along side this Stu was invited back to play for each of his residencies and launched a brand new beach concept, UM Beach in Porto Portals. More big events and gigs came as the resident DJ at Playhouse events playing alongside Glitterbox and Defected DJs at the highly exclusive BOP night-club Mallorca. Upon his winter return to Dubai he continued to work at various venues for Mais Musica including being a guest DJ at Dua Lipa’s Concert on the Palm. 2020 Stu went back to his on-going residency at Kings Social House and Quattro Bar in St Moritz, where he plays alongside the house & Disco scene’s biggest names at two of Switzerland’s world renowned venues. With plans effected by the pandemic this summer, Stu continued to DJ wherever safe and possible, and landed a residency at Key West Beach Club, Mallorca. One advantage of more down time was more time in the studio, creating new music for when the world returns to normal. A renowned music producer, Stu has found success at the top of the Beatport and Traxsource charts with his releases and currently has tracks signed on classic labels such as Cutting Records (US), Map-Dance Recordings (CH), Midnight Riot (UK), Love Network (US) and most recently to Koda Recordings (DE). An avid mix-maker, his radio shows and podcasts have been featured on Ibiza Global Radio, Kiss FM, Virgin Radio, Emirates Airlines and Radio One Mallorca. All of which have helped showcase his unique blend of music to millions of listeners. With an album’s worth of tunes ready to go, Stu is ready for the return of clubbing bigger and stronger than ever.
