Being a DJ in Dubai has its perks. Like DJing for Leonardo Di
Caprio. And Orlando Bloom. Oh, and Roberto Cavalli, 50
Cent and dozens more at super swanky parties across the
emirate. But aside from being in the right place at the right
time throughout a lot of his career, Andy Swift’s trademark
cool and commercial sound belongs on the dancefloor with
the clubber.
He first came to prominence in the city a decade ago when he competed in the prestigious Palme Middle East DJ Championship. He finished a highly respectable 5 th in 2004 when he was the youngest entrant, and even better the following year to clinch 2 nd , helping to raise his profile in the emerging Middle East city. Residencies came quickly for the talented DJ. First up was Boudoir, one of the longest running clubs in the Middle East, before he was talent spotted by Etoiles at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi were he spent a year in the award-winning venue further honing his skills at one of the finest hotels in the world. From there, he landed one of the best gigs in the city at Zinc, playing to a packed out crowd of clubbers 7 nights a week. One of the most consistent clubs in the region, it straddles the line between cool and commercial perfectly, making it a perfect home for Andy Swift.
Alongside that, he’s also the host and DJ of the best ladies night in town at the Dubai Marina Yacht club (as voted for by Time Out/What’s On) where he gets to play a more expansive sound.
